The colorful, animated moving graphics in front of me resemble a school hallway. I feel like I've just entered that school's main hallway while class changes are going on. However, I'm really just sitting here at my computer desk at home! Okay, the notes on the school lockers say I need to choose which grade level I want to begin with. I can tell I'm at Houghton Mifflin Reading which gives me three more options to my left. I can either click on Authors and Illustrators, Weekly Reader Articles, or I can choose Book Adventure. I choose Grade 1 and a Book comes up that is highly recommended, and I also get the option of clicking on eWord Game, eGlossary, or Web Field Trip. Very fun and educational activities beckon to me as I click on each one. This particular website works off of educational themes and is geared for elementary age students grade 1-6. Each Theme will give you a recommended book carried by Houghton Mifflin that reinforces the lesson plan. This web page is a great resource for teachers who want to teach their students how to critically think and make inferences in each story presented.
